I had a delightful stay at a charming country house just off the M6. The check-in process was easy and welcoming, and I was pleasantly surprised to be upgraded to a top floor attic-style room with plenty of space. The evening meal was delicious, served with a smile, and the breakfast the next day was outstanding, especially the full Scottish breakfast. The hotel's location is perfect, being near Gretna but still quiet and peaceful.

I experienced some issues during my stay. As someone with animal allergies, I could smell a doggy odor in my bedroom, particularly on my side of the bed, which led to a somewhat disturbed night's sleep.
